Dear One Golden Thread Community,
We are beyond grateful for your ongoing support and dedication to our mission of making the world more connected in a regenerative spirit. Together, we’ve reached a significant milestone—over 108,000 trees planted, from the Amazon, to California, to Nepal, to Bali, spanning the globe.
Many have asked to know where trees tethered to your next purchase are planned to be planted. We are taking a fresh approach, forward looking. Effective immediately, we are sharing in advance the projects we are actively considering that speak to the heart of our mission, and then at the end of the quarter, we will confirm those funded projects.
From now until the end of the year, these three incredible projects are of great interest:
🌿 Australia – Rejuvenation Trees Project
Led by First Nations Wudjari people, this initiative aims to restore both the land and the people by rejuvenating cultural corridors known as songlines. The project focuses on economic self-determination through land ownership and sustainable income generation.
🌿 Bhutan – Mountain Hazelnuts for Livelihood & Climate
Our partner in Bhutan is working with smallholder farming families in the Himalayas to plant hazelnut trees on degraded mountain slopes. This social impact venture will create long-term livelihoods for vulnerable communities while restoring the environment.
🌿 Mexico – Watershed Management in Veracruz
In Veracruz, Mexico, reforestation efforts will restore forest cover and crucial ecosystem functions in two regions of this Gulf of Mexico state. This project focuses on watershed management to support local communities and ecosystems in the fight against climate change.
As we build our global love forest, we do it together, with YOU.
And finally, a 3-Point Flash Reminder on Our Regenerative-Nature Impact Model:
1. Why do we plant trees?
Trees are the ultimate carbon capture machines, playing a crucial role in achieving climate wellness. They represent the fastest, most effective solution to counterbalance carbon emissions and support a healthy planet.
2. Where do we plant?
We collaborate with projects around the globe that are vital for biodiversity and harmony, all aligned with our mission to restore and regenerate. Each tree we plant touches the heart of our shared commitment to the Earth.
3. What kind of trees are planted?
The species are chosen by biodiversity experts at our NGO partners. Each tree is thoughtfully selected based on the unique ecosystem of the region, ensuring harmony with local flora and fauna. For instance, in the Amazon, a stunning 92 different varietals were planted!
Thank you for being a part of our heart. Together, we are planting a love forest, as One Golden Thread. 🌍
With love and golden gratitude,
Jeff + The One Golden Thread Team
