Interviewing a guest on my Drops of Gold pod last summer, I meant to ask, “How are you feeling?” What came out instead was, “How are you fielding?”
A one-word slip. And then—oh. Something opened, made sense to me.
“Feeling” names what is moving through us. “Fielding” gives it somewhere to go. It gifted me a space and place to pause and ask:
How grounded am I?
Where am I rooted?
What am I feeding?
The field is where life actually happens. Where ready meets reality. Where strangers become friends. Where we get dirty - deliciously so.
Maybe the invitation is simple: Get back out there. Go somewhere. Meet someone. Be clear in your own field. Don’t stop asking, “How are you feeling?” Go deeper and explore: “How are we fielding?”
